ABOUT ME
At the Friedrich-Alexander University (FAU) of Erlangen, I studied physics (specialising on condensed matter physics, with minor subject geology/mineralogy), where I received my diploma (master's degree) with distinction in 2005. I was awarded the "Max-Schaldach" price for one of the three best master thesis at FAU in the academic year 2005/06. Afterwards, I decided to pursue my doctoral studies in the field of computational astrophysics at the Ludwig-Maximilian University and at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics in Garching/Munich. As a postdoctoral researcher, I have been working with Dr. De Lucia at the Osservatorio Astronomico di Trieste, Italy (2011-2014), and with Prof. Charlot at the Institute d’Astrophysique de Paris, France (2014-2018). In 2018, I won a half-year guest professorship at the University of Vienna. From April 2019 to February 2022, I have been working as an assistant professor at DARK/Niels Bohr Institute at the University of Copenhagen. In 2020/21 I was awarded a permanent researcher position at INAF/Observatory of Trieste and a SNF-PRIMA research grant (1.3 million Euros).
Since March 2022, I am appointed as a tenure track assistant professor at EPFL, leading the laboratory for galaxy evolution and spectral modelling.
